The Egyptian boy pharaoh, King Tutankhamun, also called King Tut, is the most intriguing and famous Egyptian ruler. His tomb was discovered in 1922, by George Herbert and Howard Carter, the renowned British Egyptologists, and became an international sensation. At that time, he was a relatively unknown Egyptian pharaoh and was lost to the history of the world, yet the intact gold coffin containing his remains has proven his majesty. Tutankhamun became the 12th Pharaoh of the 18th Egyptian dynasty at the age of 9 or 10, in 1332 B.C., due to his father’s untimely death. Since he was so young, he had to rely on his trusted advisers to rule over Ancient Egypt during his nine years of reign. However, King Tut received recognition for restoring the traditional Egyptian values and reversing some of the changes performed during his father’s reign.
